Do Islamic versus conventional banks progress or regress in productivity level?

Abstract This study assesses the differences between Islamic and conventional bank’s productivity. Earlier studies on bank productivity focused banks, but few have been done banks. Therefore, present attempts to close gap in literature by investigating of banks context Middle East, Southeast Asia South regions. The sample is comprised 385 (66 319 banks) from 18 countries with data observations 2008 2017. Panel techniques DEA-based MPI will be employed investigate impact selected important factor as indicated total changes (TFPCH). Based results, are more productive than results t test further confirmed nonparametric tests. These attributed progress EFFCH. However, mean difference TFPCH not statistically significant all main benefit that this work hopefully provide additional insight complement existing regulations, investors researchers.
